Distance Covered:

Cleared all appointments from the decks on the basis of the forecast! On the beach, people were just changing up from 4.0 to 5.0 ish.

After much prevarication, a couple of squalls, wind dropping to zero and blowing solid F6, I realised that nothing was going to be perfect, so played safe'ish with 4.7 on 86l wave board.

At first, I was slightly overpowered, especially as the waves at high water were pretty big, so added a bit more downhaul & outhaul, only for the wind to drop several notches.

With the wind dead onshore, getting out around HW can be problematic. Once the tide starts to ebb, the waves get a big friendlier. really, I should have changed to a bigger sail, but I managed to get going pretty well for much of the time. Long walk back though after overstaying my welcome (3hrs after HW!).
